Listed a Historic Monument, the Château d’Etelan was built at the end of the 15th century, from 1494, which makes it the first Italian Renaissance chateau built in France.

The Château d’Etelan is located in the heart of the Pays de Caux and Seine Valley between the bridges of Brotonne and Tancarville, and it overlooks the last big meander of the river Seine. A place where Francis I of France, Catherine de’ Medici, and even Voltaire and Gustave Eiffel stopped, the Château d’Etelan comprises a chapel dedicated to Sainte Madeleine dating back to the Early Norman Renaissance, which Abbot Cochet compared to those of the chateaux of Blois, Chenonceau and Amboise. Its park is a unique place where the environment hasn't changed over the centuries and is designed to walk around or admire the site.
