Sancerre

Around Sancerre, a town with a medieval heart and rich history, there is a whole series of villages located between the steep hillsides, planted with vines. Chavignol, Ménétréol-sous-Sancerre or even Amigny. Many small towns with full of beautiful sights to discover.

All the year long, the region is punctuated by numerous events. Whether sporting, cultural or festive: Le Bourges – Sancerre, Sancerre Trail, cycling trips, Wine Fair, Jardins suspendus...

Loving earth
The Pays Fort

Pays-Fort is a hilly and authentic territory located in the heart of Berry, between Sologne and Sancerre. Nestled in the hollow of the bocage hills, the Pays-Fort is the cradle of the pyramidal barns, emblems of the region. Its rural nature has been preserved over the years, making Pays-Fort an ideal place for practicing many nature activities.

Pays-Fort takes its name from the land that composes it, made of clay and limestone. We speak of “loving” soil because it is fertile and adheres perfectly to the soil.

Warm inhabitants, natural landscapes and a privileged geographical location, so many aspects which make Pays-Fort an essential region to visit

Rhythm of the Loire
The Loire Valley

Natural border between two regions, Burgundy and Berry in the Loire Center, here, it is also a border between 3 departments: Cher (18), Nièvre (58) and Loiret (45). The Loire Valley occupies a small area bordered by the Loire, the last unmanaged river in France, measuring a approximatly 1000km.

Here, it is also a land of heritage and culture. Cultural offer is rich and varied: museums, cinema, theatrical performances, interpretation center… Historical monuments mark the landscape, from the Church of Léré to the Pyramidal Barns in farms.

During your walks in Grand Sancerrois, in the Natural Reserve and Wild Islands in the Loire, you will find the exact middle of this Loire! Water is omnipresent there, with the royal river and it's castles but also with the canal lateral to the Loire.
