From the hamlet of Douans you will start a long climb of 1200m of elevation gain to the pas de barbican and its Italian border before transplanting to the refuge of San Bernolfo (Dahu) where you can eat. You will discover the lake of St Bernolfo before descending for a return by the pas de colle longue.
