The studio for rent is located on the Ground Floor of our house built according to standards for low energy consumption (MINERGIE-P Label). It is done to conveniently accommodate 2 people (up to 5 maximally). The room contains a large double bed and is separated from the rest by an opaque curtain. In the living room, you will find a double sofa bed (140cm) and a single sofa bed (90cm) both comfortable for sleeping.
The studio has a fully equipped kitchen (oven and plates for cooking, coffee maker with coffee and tea making facilities, fridge, dishwasher, crockery, pans, some basic spices, …) and a separate bathroom with shower and WC (towels available).
A baby folding bed and a hiking backpack to carry young children can be provided. Various kitchen accessories are also available on request (raclette and raclonette oven, fondue set,…). The TV is not wired, but lets watch DVDs available or taken by you, or connect other multimedia support. Wifi is available and free.
An historic setting and a family atmosphere since 1901. In our hotel, you will "hear the woodwork creaking and greet our benevolent ancestors".

At the age of 5, I was already saying that I wanted to become a mountain guide to the despair of my mother...
As a child of Evolène, and descendant of a line of guides, I practiced ski racing until I was 19. I was determined to climb the peaks around me and, driven by curiosity, to travel the world and its mountains.
My passion took me to the Himalayas and to North and South America on several occasions. In our Alps I have climbed all the 4000m and done many great races.
When I became a Mountain Guide, I wanted to share my experience and my passion by taking my clients to make their dreams come true in summer and winter.
Antoine has been a full-time guide since 2002. Active in both training and guiding his clients, his steps have taken him from Pakistan to Argentina, but always bring him back to the Val d'Hérens.

It is in Evolène, a place of authenticity, that you will find the restaurant Le Refuge. A pleasant place to sit on the terrace, facing the sumptuous Dent-Blanche which culminates at 4356m.
Entirely built with noble materials, the café is made of larch wood while the beautiful dining room is made of local aromatic herbs. In the winter garden, a warming sun enters generously through the bay windows.
The cuisine is varied according to the seasons, the cooked dishes are refined, grilled meats, hunting, fish and shellfish are served alongside traditional local dishes, raclette and fondue.
For the little gourmets, outdoor games are available as well as colouring to entertain themselves during the meal.

"L’A Vieille", the hamlet in the mountain pastures of Eison, stands at an altitude of 2400m. Some of the chottes (huts in mountain pastures) are used as gîtes, and a shop for selling local products, with snack bar, has been established.
From Wednesday to Sunday, all day long, you can enjoy home-made Breton galettes and crêpes at Val d'Hérens' only crêperie. Our motto is to give priority to local products and small-scale craftsmen.

Lise and her team welcome you to taste locale produce at the snack bar in this mountain pasture. Owner Lise and her cheese are now so renowned that they were the basis for a project to renovate the mountain pasture at Loveignoz. This took the form of a new building between the barn and the shepherds' house which serves as a snack bar, allowing Lise to display and sell some of the 5500 kg of raclette and tomme cheese she produces every summer in this magical place.

C'est aussi une étape de séjour idéale pour randonner aux alentours et profiter du calme ambiant de ce petit hôtel de caractère. Il propose des chambres simples ou doubles, certaines avec balcon et salle de bain privative, d'autres avec salle de bain à l'étage pour les petits budgets. On s'y sent bien et les chambres sont propres, agréables et parfaitement entretenues.

De mi-juin à mi-octobre, Alexandre et son équipe ont fait de cet endroit, un lieu de rencontres où se mêlent convivialité et authenticité entre locaux et visiteurs. Au fond du Val des Dix, une route d’alpage, d’accès aisé, mène à l’alpage de Mandelon et sa buvette.
La buvette fait la part belle aux produits du terroir : rösti maison, fondue, planchette de l'alpage, croûte au fromage sans oublier les desserts maison de Nicole. La spécialité : les mignons de porc aux morilles. Le must : la fondue Glareyarde à partager entre amis sur réservation. A l'automne, une carte de mets de chasse.
La terrasse de la buvette bénéficie d’un magnifique panorama jusqu’aux dernières lueurs du jour d'où l'on peut observer les marmottes et assister à la rentrée des vaches.
A l’intérieur, une trentaine de places dans une ancienne chotte réhabilitée en buvette-restaurant dans un esprit terroir. L’ancienne chaudière de l'alpage trône au milieu de la pièce et les tables ont été fabriquées à partir du plancher des écuries, ce qui leur donnent une teinte toute particulière (urine de vaches oblige !!!)
Durant la saison d'alpage, de fin juin à fin septembre, vous trouverez une boutique "vente de fromages" avec sérac, tomes et fromage à raclette.
En hiver, la buvette ouvre les week-ends du Vendredi midi au Dimanche après midi (sauf mauvaise météo). On peut y déguster une délicieuse soupe du chalet après une rando-raquette ou profiter de son offre Raquette & Raclette.
En hiver, c'est le point de rendez-vous des skieurs "peaux de phoque" en attendant le ski-bus retour, une pause bienvenue au retour d'une belle randonnée en raquettes au Val des Dix ou une journée de ski de fond à Pralong. Proche de la buvette de Praperoz, vous trouverez le téléski de Leteygeon et son jardin des neiges pour s'initier aux joies de la glisse.

Christophe vous accueille du mercredi au dimanche dans sa charmante Pension des Aiguilles Rouges à Mâche où vous pourrez découvrir le patrimoine architectural de ce vieux village en suivant son parcours didactique.
Début Août, c’est la transhumance vers les pâturages d’Essertze après avoir paturé près de 50 jours à Mandelon. A proximité de l’alpage, la cabane d’Essertze accueille randonneurs et visiteurs en balade aux Gouilles d’Essertze, un site naturel protégé d’une beauté sauvage remarquable avec ses 7 petits lacs.
La Cabane d’Essertze est gérée par le Ski Club Hérémencia. Elle est située à 2191 m d’altitude, sur le territoire de la commune d’Hérémence. Ouverte de fin juin à mi-septembre, elle vous accueillera pour boire un verre, manger un morceau ou même passer la nuit.
La petite restauration met à l’honneur les produits locaux. En saison et selon l’arrivage, il est également possible d’acheter des tommes et du sérac de l’alpage de Mandelon à la Cabane.
Le gardiennage est assuré par des bénévoles durant l’été.
Accessible à pied ou en voiture, elle est située dans un cadre magnifique au cœur des montagnes valaisannes.
Attention! Offrant un cadre idyllique, la Cabane possède une mauvaise connexion internet et pourra donc seulement accepter les paiements en espèces (francs suisses)!
