The Trail des Forts de Besançon is one of the trail highlights of this weekend in France. As the largest nature race in eastern France, it offers six race formats ranging from 5 to 62 km, for a unique immersion between nature and heritage at the heart of UNESCO-listed fortifications. Featuring the iconic Citadel crossing, a full chain of forts for the most experienced runners, and a finish along the Doubs River, more than 7,500 runners are expected for this highly anticipated 2026 edition.
