Start: Place du Quinconce, center of Buis-les-Baronnies.

1. From Place du Quinconce, cross the D546 to reach the narrow ruelle de la Goule on the opposite corner.

2. At the end of this alley, turn right onto rue du Moulin. You'll come to an intersection with a main road. Continue straight ahead on Chemin du Canal du Moulin. You'll reach the Pont Neuf 500m further on.

3. Turn left onto a small tarmac road. This is the Chemin de l'Ecluse.

4. You pass an olive grove and come to the Leuze fork, where you can follow the alternative route to the Ubrieux gorges on the right.

Variant gorges d'Ubrieux (AR) :
2 km, 30 m D+, 45 min.

Turn right at the Leuze fork. Head towards the cliffs of the Gorges d'Ubrieux. The road becomes a level path. Join a track on the right. At the end of the wide track, turn right onto a smaller, still level path that runs alongside the canal. You begin to hear the sound of the river. You arrive at the Ouvèze ford, where the alternative route ends.
For the return journey, take the same route as the outward journey.


Turn left (or right if returning from the alternative route) onto the tarmac road.

5. At the second fork in the road, keep left through the olive groves. Then turn left again, following the hairpin onto a wide unsurfaced track through olive groves. Always stay on the main track, even if secondary tracks cross it, as they lead to private property. You'll pass by an old cottage next to a large boulder.

6. After 1.2 km, leave the track and join the road in a hairpin bend. Turn left downhill. Stay on the road as it descends towards the village.

7. When you leave this small road (chemin des Guilhottes), turn left onto a larger road, then left again after 50m, passing the secondary school. You then come to Rue du Moulin on the right.
Take this road and return to the parking lot by the same route as before.
