So that you can fully enjoy your outdoor activities, several organizations work on a daily basis to provide you with safe and well-maintained places to practice. According to their respective areas of expertise (tourism promotion, route and itinerary management, financial partners), all of these stakeholders have chosen to work together to bring this website to life.
With over 50 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of its territory, the Cévennes National Park offers you preserved and protected natural areas. You can observe, breathe, and discover emblematic landscapes (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site), a pristine sky (International Dark Sky Reserve), and agricultural and artisanal activities living in harmony with these sparsely populated spaces within the biosphere reserve.

Highly active within their territories, these parks are strongly committed to showcasing and promoting outdoor activities as tools for discovering their landscapes and local heritage.

Interdependent, the Tourist Offices welcome you and provide information about the activities available in their territories. These same activities are managed and maintained by the Communities of Municipalities to ensure the quality of the offer promoted by the Tourist Offices. As you explore the trails, be aware that many human resources are mobilized to ensure you have a great experience. If you encounter a problem on the areas, sites, or routes you use, please do not hesitate to report it via Suricate. Your reports will be automatically forwarded to the technicians of the Communities of Municipalities, who will do everything possible to resolve the issue.

Through its overarching vision and financial support, the Department supports all the previously mentioned organizations to facilitate the implementation of their missions. To this end, it provides legal, technical, and financial assistance. It also leads the Departmental Commission for Areas, Sites, and Itineraries (CDESI), which aims to promote the sustainable development of outdoor sports in coordination with all stakeholders in the territory.

As the organization behind the long-distance hiking trails (GR® and GRP®), marked in red and white and red and yellow, FFRP Lozère ensures the inspection and updating of the trail markings across 1,800 km of long-distance routes, thanks to its network of 120 volunteer trail markers.

Lozère is home to no fewer than four outdoor activity hubs offering a wide range of outdoor sports: Aubrac, Mont Lozère, the Gorges du Tarn, and Mont Aigoual.
Across these four hubs, local stakeholders—both public and private—work together to improve the quality of outdoor sites and meet visitors’ expectations, enabling them to fully enjoy the vast open spaces that Lozère has to offer.
The Aubrac hub is organized to support a wide variety of activities throughout the year, thanks to the coordination of service providers and sites. You can discover the unique landscapes of Aubrac through hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and snow activities, as well as enjoy recreational activities such as treetop adventure courses and orienteering.
On Mont Lozère, activities are available year-round. Come and explore a network of hiking, trail running, equestrian, and mountain biking routes. You can also try orienteering on secured courses, via ferrata, rock climbing, canyoning, and Nordic activities (snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, and alpine skiing).
The Gorges du Tarn offer a wide diversity of outdoor activities: on land (hiking, horseback riding, trail running, and mountain biking), on water (canoeing, swimming, paddleboarding, canyoning), in the air (paragliding, via ferrata, climbing), and underground (caving).
Finally, Mont Aigoual also offers a wide range of outdoor activities throughout the year. In summer, enjoy hiking in all its forms thanks to a marked trail network, orienteering on secured courses, and climbing on maintained routes. In winter, take advantage of downhill skiing, sled excursions, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
