This is a difficult trail (red), 3.09 km long, in the Croix-des- Gardes nature park. It features uneven terrain and blends flat, uphill and downhill sections with a chance to spice up your walk or run with muscle-strengthening and stretching exercises on the gym apparatus available on the fitness circuit.
From Square Marcel Pagnol turn right onto the fitness circuit path including parallel bars, then continue to the press-up bars and finally the horizontal bars. You then come to hurdles, steps and stretching benches before going on to the overhead ladders.
Before you get to the final pieces of fitness equipment, there is a very uneven and relatively challenging uphill section. When you arrive at the mounted police centre, turn left towards the car parks on Avenue Jean de Noailles. You then go down towards the esplanades, where there is abdominal and stretching equipment. Then cross Avenue de la Croix-des-Gardes and you will arrive at the memorial tablet to the Liberator. Turn right onto the footpath, where there is a balance beam, then continue with a second visit to the horizontal bars before turning right into an uphill section with alternating jump equipment. You will then arrive at an exceptional panorama over the Lérins Islands with Notre-Dame d’Espérance Church and Le Suquet in the foreground.
Go back down to the starting point on Square Marcel Pagnol.
