The Ostriconi site

site

The Ostriconi nature reserve is one of the wildest jewels in the Balagne region. This unique site combines coastal and lakeside environments, with ponds such as Cannuta and Foce, as well as magnificent dunes, all listed in the National Inventory of Natural Heritage.

Accessible only on foot, the Ostriconi is bordered by lush vegetation and a white sandy beach exposed to strong winds. These winds shape the dunes that extend up to Punta Liatoghju, more than 220 metres high. To reach the beach, simply cross a small footbridge over the Foce pond.

The flora and fauna here are particularly rich and varied. Shared with the neighbouring Losari nature reserve, it is home to a multitude of animal and plant species.

The Ostriconi is protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral de Corse and the Parc Marin de l'Agriate et du Cap Corse to preserve its beauty and biodiversity.
